Nanopores are nanometer scale holes formed naturally by proteins or cells, and can be used for a variety of applications, including sequencing DNA and detecting harmful chemicals such as anthrax. From the Back CoverNanopores: Sensing and Fundamental Biological Interactions examines the emerging research directions surrounding nanopores such as genome sequencing and early disease detection using biomarker identification. This book also: Discusses biological nanopores and solid-state nanoporesExamines recent work on biological and synthetic nanoporesCompares alternative approaches to nanopores including polymers, processes and protocols Covering the applications of nanopores in genetics, proteomics, drug discovery, early disease detection and detection of emerging environmental threats, Nanopores: Sensing and Fundamental Biological Interactions is a must-have book for biomedicalengineers and research scientists.. They can be integrated into artificially constructed encapsI read allot of self help books.I would recommend this to anyone.. However, Dark Horse's brilliant Omnibus compilations is the god-send for us die hard fans who can't find every obscure copy. I highly recommend it!. I read this book with my 19 year old son, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it, despite me getting it originally for my grandson. The imagery is colorful and fun. It was so full of information about all the Greek gods (and other kinds of gods too, like Roman, Egyptian, and Indian) that I didn't have any trouble with my project. I cry at the end every time. The author is an excellent writer--and her book is crafted quite well. Her only redeeming quality is at the very end of the book when she made the job decision. Wonderful story! I really enjoyed reading this even though it may have been a little short it does make it up in sheer quirkiness and charm. My son received a telescope for Christmas, and I purchased this book as a companion. How he made the books’ characters come even more alive than they were with all his speech nuances was nothing less than incredible."Like my beloved always used to say: 'You can survive anything as long as you have cookies on hand'"Hard Edit rounded up few unanswered"Nanopores: Sensing and Fundamental Biological Interactions" examines the emerging research directions surrounding nanopores such as genome sequencing and early disease detection using biomarker identification. Nanopores are nanometer scale holes formed naturally by proteins or cells, and can be used for a variety of applications, including sequencing DNA and detecting anthrax. They can be integrated into artificially constructed encapsulated cells of silicon wafers while allowing small molecules like oxygen, glucose and insulin to pass, while keeping out large system molecules. Covering the applications of nanopores in genetics, proteomics, drug discovery, early disease detection and detection of emerging environmental threats, it is a must-have book for biomedicalengineers and research scientists.
