Ballard has presented an outstanding view of the areas of New York City and suburbs served by the streetcars of the Third Avenue Railway System. The section on homework was especially enlightening.I would emphasize that teachers should not expect intrinsic motivation. But perhaps as they see more and more of us having long-term success they will finally read this bookand believe.Update (8-8-12): It has now been nearly a year since I went wheat free. I was a bit hesitant at the start of this story and I wasn't getting a connection to these two especially AJ but the author didn't go the route of DRAMA filled situations and I quickly became engaged into the story, especially with ALL that sex *sighs in jealously*. Bell spends a good deal of time, to good effect, describing how Lavoisier applied to the more rigorous principles of mathematics to his own efforts.Bell also does a good job in setting out the importance of Lavoisier's focus on addressing narrow questions rather than seeking to find a universal solution for the world and its constituent parts.
